1. I would like to have a website. Where do I begin? |
You will need a domain name or Internet address that
identifies the name or type of business. You will
need a place to store the web pages, files and images
in a hosting server. Then, you will need to create
the web pages. Finally, you must think of maintaining
your website. If all this sounds too overwhelming
to do by yourself, you can hire a web designer to
manage and design it for you. azpDesigns is here to
help you. |
2. How much does a website cost? |
There are several factors that are going to affect the
final cost of a website. These factors include how many
pages the website will have, whether the graphics are
custom designed or supplied by you, whether a scripting
language will have to be used and whether the website
will interact with a database or some other system, such
as a merchant account. Finally, you will need web hosting
and domain name registration. |
3. How long does it take to have a website designed? |
The time frame is determined by the size of your website, the complexity of your site design, and our
current work load. |
4. Does my business need a website? |
Owning a website, gives your business a 24-hour
exposure, 7 days a week, 365 day a year. What other medium
allows you to expose all the benefits of your business to
your target market at their convenience and provide a
source of direct correspondence from them to you? The
benefits of a website are innumerable. |
5. What is web hosting? |
Web hosting is a service that allows your website to be
accessible on the Internet. This service involves a monthly
fee which varies depending on the type of your website and
the number of visitors it is expected to have. |
6. How can I help my web designer? |
Provide us with as much information as possible. If you
have any printed materials such as brochures or company
logo, please send them to us. If you have a website that
you admire, please send us the address of the website.
Describe to us you general preferences, such as colors,
fonts, graphics or basic layout. These are the elements
that are difficult and time consuming to change at a
later stage. |
7. Will I be able to monitor progress of my project? |
Upon contract signing, you will be given a unique
password-protected URL where all files related to
your project will be available for you to view at
your convenience. |
8. What is the difference between web design and web maintenance? |
Web design is the actual creation of the initial website. Web
maintenance is the updating and changing of content on that site.
The web design contract is separate from the web maintenance.
If you expect your site to change frequently, a web maintenance
contract is highly recommended. Most good websites have new
content updated regularly. Fresh content is what will keep
your visitors coming back. |
9. Your company is located in a different state than we are, can we work together? |
We create websites for clients who are local as well as out of state. By using
the Internet, email and the telephone, it is possible to communicate effectively
with clients in any location. Therefore, your physical presence is not necessary
for successful completion of a web project. |
10. Why can't I find my website in the search engines? |
After your site has been submitted to the search
engines, they may require several weeks or even months
to actually spider and list your website in their
directory. How fast your site is listed, depends on
each individual search engines database update schedule. |
11. What is a content management system? |
A content management system allows clients to change some
content of the website without involvement of a web developer.
Some examples of such content are news, pictures, prices, etc.
Such systems can be implemented only for websites that are
developed using a scripting language like PHP and a database. |
12. I would like to edit my website content. How can I do that? |
There are several ways a website can be edited. The two
most common ways are through a use of a content management
system and through a webpage editor. If a website was developed
in pure HTML code, the only way to edit such pages is by
editing them in a webpage editor or to have us do it for you
each time you want something changed. A content management
system allows you to modify the content without our involvement. |
